“Are you seeking community & a nature-based “hub” for your family’s learning? Would you like to take your homeschooling into the great outdoors, with other families, and have access to great resources & tools? Come join us in The Grove! The Grove is a way for Kingston Forest & Nature School to hold space for your family to move your learning into nature with community. This program is ideally suited for homeschooling families with children aged 4-13, and offers the opportunity for a wide variety of child-led nature-rich experiences & nature-rooted community-led hands-on workshops for you and your child.”
- Parent/caregiver-assisted afternoon program for families with school-age children.
- Homeschool forest school / family forest & nature school program – KFNS is “holding space” for families to move their learning into nature with community.
- Enjoy occasional workshops run by fellow Grove members & “natural experts” from the community, access to nature-based curricula, and the KFNS collection of tools & resources.
- A minimum of one participating child per family must be at least 4 years old and no more than 13 years old by December 31, 2022. (In school-age terms, Junior Kindergarten – Grade 8, however registration in a traditional school is not a requirement for participation.)
- Siblings under 3 may accompany the registered participant(s) and parent/caregiver free of charge but are the sole responsibility of the parent/caregiver.
- Snacks & lunch are the responsibility of the parent/caregiver.
- Program runs from 12:00pm-3:00pm.
- This program is loosely facilitated (there will be 1 staff on-site to assist you), there may be workshops scheduled or you may be expected to bring your own programming/engage in child-led learning & exploration.
- Registration required, space for ~12 families per session.
- $20/child/week (50% off 4th child & beyond)
- Non-refundable deposit of 20% of the program fees is required (per child, per program) at the time of registration. Non-refundable registration processing fee of $15 is charged per child once per session. Please see Our Policies for all policies.
- Fees must be paid in full 2 weeks before the session start date.
- Payment plans & fee reductions are available upon request & when funds are available.

THE GROVE IS NOT CURRENTLY BEING OFFERED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST. If you know at least 3 families with at least 5 children between them that are genuinely interested in reviving this program, please contact us.
